About Us

Mike Capra has worked in the underground utility industry ever since he can remember. His dad began Capra’s Utilities, Inc. in 1989 with a one-ton truck and a Ford 4500 backhoe. He was able to provide for his family while growing his business. Mike spent his high school summers working for his dad, learning how to operate equipment and figuring out the ins and outs of the business. Mike received his septic (SSTS) license shortly after completing high school and began working full-time in the industry.

When Mike purchased the business from his dad in 2002, he had his own shop, several employees, a couple of backhoes, and a skid steer. Mike has tripled his fleet and shop space since then and operates the business with his wife, Kris.

We have a fleet of vehicles, including semi-trucks, dump trucks, service vehicles, and several sizes of excavators and skid steers. Our focus on having the right equipment for the right job allows us to operate at the highest level with no downtime or delays in completing your project. 

Over the past 35 years, we have learned that our most valuable asset is our employees. Our employees collectively have almost 100 years of working in the industry and are committed to providing quality work and superior customer service at an affordable price.
